Maid and the *(^*&^*&

I had a second maid. She was with us for one and a half years. She irritated me. She worked mostly at Bob's office which means she only came home at about 4pm or so. Only then I would see her and she would supposedly help with the house work. I never really liked her since she first came.

From day one her husband creared problems for her. He kept on bugging her, calling her, making her life difficult. Made my life difficult too cause he started to bug me. Sending me smses, calling me in the middle of the night to talk to her.Psycho!

Well now she has gone back. She didn't finish her contract cause her husband was giving her a hard time. No reason was given why she had to stop work but I suspect husband was threathening her with divorce. Why let her come in the first place. DUH!

Before she left I gave her last pay and she said I didn't pay her for one of those past months. I checked my books and said no, she must have been mistaken. Oh ya and since she wanted to quit before her contract expired, she had to pay for her own ticket back. About RM275 so we deducted it from her pay. By right, I should have asked her to compensate for lost months. As it is her permit alone is RM675.

Today her husband smsed me asking why I made her pay for her own ticket and accused me of not giving her that one month salary. For the record he has been trying to call me but I have not picked up the phone. He is an ASS! I have spoken to him in those initial months and he is an ASS!

I got very angry when he sent that sms this evening. I bet she didn't tell him that Bob gave her RM300 for her 3 kids. I bet she didn't tell him about the phone bills that I had to pay when he first started giving her a hard time those initial months. And I bet she didn't tell him that she had to pay access baggage of RM300.

The audacity of some people. I told my maid what happened so she will be aware of the situation in case he (the ASS) decides to call her and badger her about it.

And I thought I got rid of her!

Saturday Crammed

I used to look forward to Saturday's cause that is the day there is no school. The only activity the girls have on that day is piano class at 10am which is over by 11am and we are free to do whatever we like.

Until now ...

Nadiah has decided she wants to take up tae-kwan-do and art class in school. I had to say no to the art class because of the timing. I have also enrolled the girls in swimming classes for the next 10 weeks. Yesterday was their first lesson and looks like they enjoyed it.

I say enjoyed it because they were not beeing leechy, if you know what I mean...

The good thing about the swimming classes is I have enrolled them together with my girlfriend's kids. So it's a whole big happy family. Or another excuse for us girls to make sure we can spend some Goss time together.

Their coach is Syed, who some of my girlfriend's claim is not much of a looker for their eyes to view. Hmmmm, another way of saying tak handsome langsung and he doesn't have a six pack. He better not be reading this! But the girls have no complaints about learning how to swim for him so neither do I lah!
Yesterday they learned how to paddle, how to put their head in the water and how to not be afraid of the water. An accomplishment indeed, now I have to buy goggles! I can't wait for them to be able to swim. Then when we go for holidays we would not need to bring those floats and bother blowing into them.

Toothless In Ara Damansara

This is a continuation of the tooth fairy story. *wink* No lah ... just to share with you the girl's without their teeth.

This is Najihah with both her front tooth gone last year. She got 50 sen each from the tooth fairy. I think she has used up her five teeth already. I guess this tooth fairy doesn't have a log book lah.

This is Nadiah. Her other front tooth is shaking in fact it is lopsided already but she refuses to shake it until it comes out. She has 2 credits more with the tooth fairy.
Don't they look adorable without teeth! She can't say her "S" at all!

Roti Paun

Have you ever heard of roti paun? No? Well ... this is what it looks like.

It is not that bad actually. It is really soft, yea ... like the dinner roll you see at the back there. It melts in your mouth. It is supposed to have butter and sugar but I didn't see the butter and sugar. I did get litlle whifs of it though but not much lah.

My friends who were covering the recent by-election in Kuala Terengganu were raving on and on about this roti paun in their Facebook status. Of course being the kepoh that I am I asked what it was and they raved more about it. So much so that Sajahan actually brought back like 20 loaves for his friends. Yours truly included lah.
I followed his instructions to a tee. Popped it in the oven and enjoyed it. It was good although I could imagine what it would taste like fresh from the oven. I added more butter on it. And dipped it in oxtail soup. It was delicious ....!
Too bad there is no by-election in Perak as expected. God knows what my friends would have discovered then!

Good Day!

It is a wonderful day today. I had a good start to my day and I feel good. I hope this good feeling will last throughout the day. It was probably because I had a good night's rest (?) Oh well ... whatever it is, I am enjoying my Thursday.

Even yesterday was a good day. I broke away from the usual routine. I told Najihah not to go for KAFA and I didn't take Ali for his weekly play gym class at KidxSports at OU. Instead, I went for dessert with my two girl friends and we did some retail damage at Ikea after. We ended the evening with Ikea hot dogs and ice cream cones. It felt good, some me time. Doing one of the things I like best ... hmmm ...

Today was also good. After sending Najihah to school and since Nadiah has no KAFA today, I went for a morning walk with Ali (in the stroller of course). In the middle of my walk my BFF smsed asking if I wanted to go for breakfast. So breakfast it was at Grand City (our favourite tosai shop). After a few good laughs an hour later, I went to drop off some stuff at my SISTA's house in PJ and then to my mom's place in Shah Alam for a quick errand. Back home to get Nadiah ready and off to school and here I am now.

Najihah has no KAFA today either so am wondering if it is a good idea to go out or not. I feel like it but maybe should not so as to save money. You know how it is when you go out. Money just keeps pouring out. You would spend a minimal of RM50 at least. Been trying hard to tightem my belt these days. Not because of anything but I have a little loan to pay off due to too much of doing one of those things I like best ....

So let's see how the afternoon goes and if I can satisfy this itch to do more retail therapy by staying at home so be it!

Isn't this Beautiful

I had a wonderful feeling when I looked at this picture this morning in The Star. Isn't it just gorgeous?

It was not such a good story, about how the heavy snowfall has closed airports, offices and schools in London while France and Spain have also been hit by snow storms. I think there were even deaths reported. Sad news yes ...

But the picture took my breath away. I love Paris and would love to go there again. I think that was in one of my entries. Can you imagine Paris in winter, like this picture? Ah ... am sure it would be terribly cold but having hot chocolate at the cafe, walking around with flurries all around you, making snow angels infront of the Eifel Tower, walking hand in hand, kissing in the snow ... sigh ...

My wish for today, to be in Paris ...(keeping my fingers crossed here!)

Do YOU Believe in the Tooth Fairy?

Do you? My girls do. Or at least now they do lah. Hmmmm ... and I guess that is my doing isn't it?!?

What is wrong with believing in the tooth fairy? It is just a myth I know but they really get all excited and you should see their faces light up in the morning when they find the shiny coin under their pillow!

My BFF scolded me saying I shouldn't let them believe in all this "mengarut" things but oh well ... they will realise soon enough it was me rite! In fact, Najihah already asked me once if it was me and I said, "Why? You don't believe in the tooth fairy?" Haiyah ... we live in such a violent and vicious world with war, botox and crime. What is so wrong with having a little fairy tale in our lives.

Even Nadiah chided her elder sister for believing in the tooth fairy. She said it is mama lah! There is no such thing as the tooth fairy. But when she woke up and she found the shiny 50 sen coin she shut up lah!

There was once, Najihah was cleaning her tooth as it was kinda dirty. She didn't want the tooth fairy to collect a dirty tooth see. She dropped it in the sink's hole. She cried and cried so I told her to write a note to tell the tooth fairy where it was. She wrote the note, it was so adorable. I kept it of course and left her 50 sen. She was so happy.

There was another time, I chased them to bed and said if you don't sleep the tooth fairy won't come. Najihah aske dme how do you know. I said I read it in the book of tooth fairies. Hmmmm ... I also read in this book of tooth fairies that she won't come if there are grown ups in the room either!

Besides, in this book of tooth fairies, it says she will only collect a maximum of 5 tooths from each child.

Just when they were doubting the tooth fairy, their grandmother told them what the tooth fairy did with all the tooths she collected. She changed them into pearls and made a necklace. So there! My mom even wrote my little sister a note once which was from the tooth fairy. The tooth fairy apologised for being late as she was busy! I am laughing as I write this.

Yes, it may be harmful but as I said, as they grow up they will know it was their mother all along. They may just thank me for adding a little wonder to their life. Let them take their time in growing up. Life isn't is it, rite, so what is wrong with a little fairy tale once in awhile. Besides, what harm can the tooth fairy do.

Unless she uses botox lah ...
